Informative Indulgence Part 1

Well, this week is going to be one of informative indulgence, so what better place to start, than with motivational words from the legend that is Howard Beale;

(The video is subtitled and also has a transcript in the ‘more info’ section on the right hand side.)

Keeping up with what was promised towards the end of last week, the theme of anti-consumerism is an apparent one, especially in the days of a life of a hazard.

If you’re a fan of ‘arty’ films, then this one’s for you. If you’re sick of the homogenisation of every area you get to visit other than your hometown, like us, by corporations such as Starbucks and McShit, then this one’s also for you.
And if you want something to watch which is dope, and have got a spare hour, well, get crackin’.
Here’s the saucy little number for you to check out, a film called: ‘Surplus: Terrorised into Consumerism’
Here’s the Youtube link (it’s in multiple parts) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AEiwOM4fAY

(Don’t hesitate to let us know what you think about stuff featured here.)

So, after watching that, and keeping in mind what is featured, I suggest you watch this, and abide by its rules religiously: (the video is called ‘The Good Consumer. Select it at the top right hand corner of the player, it is number 2) http://www.adbusters.org/abtv/featured

That’s all for today. Ask yourself if what you have watched today is what is going on and is what you see all around you in city life.
Look forward to tomorrow too, everyday is going to be something interesting this week.
To end, ‘You cannot always control circumstances, but you can control your own thoughts’ – Charles Popplestown
