Here is an interesting video I came across just now to do with oil and biology's relationship energy.
Most noticeably; Oil companies can raise or lower the price of oil as they wish. This affects research sectors of alternative energy methods, such as bioenergy. The companies raise the price of oil, alternative research booms and new methods of energy arise. These new methods threaten the oil profits, so the oil companies lower their prices into the floor. As a result, these 'new alternative' business that just established themselves, go out of business because they can't compete with the new, low oil prices.
How interesting, the power really is in the hands of the few.
